We’re looking for an experienced, part-time Head of Growth to join our Sales & Growth team. Reporting in to our CEO, you’ll have the opportunity to partner with various stakeholders on the Account, Sales, Marketing and Creative teams to help shepherd new client outbound nd inbound leads. As the lighting fire into the growth of the organization, you’ll excel in this role if you’re passionate about client services, sales, communication and closing business.

 

Streamlined New Business Consultant

Four  primary responsibilities:

  1. Identifying new outbound sales leads thoroughly across SMC’s companies and its divisions (SL’s Creative Studios, REV or Government/Corporation MBE focus, Bold Culture Talent and/or Marketing Capabilities)
  2. Promptly connecting with inbound leads across properties 
  3. Developing proposals from RFPs or Pitching products and/or services proficiently, with knowledge and passion
  4. Maintaining fruitful relationships with existing customers

Day-to-day duties typically include:

  • Keeping track of SMC and it’s companies’ CRM on an ongoing basis
  • Scheduling time for introductions and pitches with inbound leads
  • Researching organizations and individuals online (especially on social media, government agency procurement sites and corporation MBE supplier networks) to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Researching the needs of other companies and learning who makes decisions about purchasing
  • Contacting potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up/take  meetings
  • Researching RFPs from government or corporations and work with team on developing and submitting proposals
  • Planning new marketing initiatives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events where applicable

When it comes to the challenge of actually selling, other typical duties include:

  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations and sales displays
  • Developing quotes and proposals
  • Negotiating and renegotiating by phone, email, and in person
  • Meeting sales goals for the team and ensuring they are met

To be an effective business development consultant: an individual must be:

  • Socially adept
  • Good with numbers
